E-GovMail.Com was created by John Bowler in early 2004. The company is a blending of two facets of John's background, Public Service and Internet marketing.

John spent 30 years as a successful restaurateur in the Southern California market and had also spent 8 years as both a City Council Member and Mayor of Hermosa Beach.

During his time in local government, John had spearheaded numerous IT projects that helped bring Hermosa Beach into the exciting world of E-Government. He had long realized the speed and effectiveness of allowing citizens to access government services and information via the Internet. He watched with interest as numerous cities created web sites as gateways to this data.

Upon retiring from both Public Service and the restaurant business, John created a RestaurantMail.Com, an e-mail marketing service directed at providing e-mail marketing for small and medium size independent restaurants. His success in this venture lead him to rekindle his old interest in using computers and the Internet to improve citizens access to information.

He contacted an old friend, Gene Dreher, who was both a noted database wizard and had extensive experience working with local municipalities as well. Gene found the concept of E-GovMail.Com to be an exciting one and suggested the addition of Mike Haas, a renowned programmer from Northern California. Together, their merging talents and backgrounds created unique synergy that has made E-GovMail.Com a reality.
